Painted at Sam Houston State University in 2009 on raw unbleached muslin spattered with OB Yellow Ochre, Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna. Rear projected with these da Vinci sketches, transferred with pencil and painted with OB Burnt Sienna.

Material was filled scrim. To keep it loose and flexible, we used Rosco Super Saturated paints. these could be thinned considerably and used like dyes. Maintained vibrant colours and remained totally flexible.
The show was "Kiss Me Kate" performed at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in 2010, designed by David Farley.

Projection frame is carved from bead foam, covered with Foam Coat and painted with Roscoe Gold paint. Props were embedded or hung on the frame.

This project was a final for my Solano Community College Stagecraft class. The steps: Built the muslin flat; transferred image via grid system; approached painting from lights to darks, allowing transparency.
