In this shot the wash is built of R80 and the accent on the lovers is R21. Simple colors, but make strong strokes of emotion.

"A...My Name is Alice" produced at Snowy Range Summer Theatre in Laramie, Wyoming. Director: Leigh Selting. Lighting Designer: Emmett H. Buhmann. Scenic Designer: Ron Steger. Costume Designer: Landee Lockhart. Photographs taken by Don Turner and Tim Buhmann.

Down washes of R382 and R34 combined with a rear texture wash of R325 through R78419 "Stuco Leaves" gobo. These proved to be versitile choices in the small studio space allowing the action to become either appropriately large or intimate.

For this John Denver musical review, I chose R358 - Rose Indigo as my color for the backlight wash, which turned out to be a primary element of the production. Throughout the musical numbers, the backlight complimented both the warm and cool washes from the SeaChangers mounted at sidelight and torm positions. It made the performers pop out from the full-cyc projections that are also crucial to the show, without bouncing any light back onto the cyc itself due to low transmission.

THe photos show the use of Rosco 4260 as the cool front light coupled with R378. The windows used R316 to create a dynamic effect of contrast between the warmth of the sun and the cold interior of Macbeth's castle. The witches scene was washed with R4430 and R2004 to give the sense of mouldy corruption concocted by the weird sisters.
