For The Wagon Wheel Theatre's Regional Premier of Disney's Tarzan, we wanted to create a realistic jungle through scenery and lighting. This posed quite a challenge given that The Wagon Wheel Theatre is an 860 arena style theatre. To accomplish this goal I used a mix of R386 and R389 with various gobo breakups projected through haze to create a "jungle" of light from the overhead fixtures. Additionally I used a mix of R4490 and R4460 with break ups from the floor mounted fixtures to add a sense of height and depth to the scenery.

For this scene, I used R17 to evoke the sweaty, hot feeling of Vietnam. The color really brought out the stagnant quality that I was looking for, and set the scene well. Through the color alone, I was able to communicate the feeling of heat.
