Mornings of April and May, by Pedro Calderon de la Barca
It is a delicious "cloak and dagger" comedy located in Madrid. The characters are a group of young entangled in love affairs, dangers and deceptions that take place during celebrations of spring, which is traditionally the season of love.

These photos show the two forms the witch takes in the production. The witch transforms on stage, so the lighting plays a key role in making the transformation appear as smoothly as possible from the audience. I used a saturated straw color directly from above it casts deep shadows, which when combined with small amounts of fog, helped facilitate the transformation. However, more importantly, it only partially restricts visibility; the audience can still see the witch transforming, but details such as her nose coming off and her taking off her cloak were not obvious to the audience.

To create that warm country feel, I used R02 for most of my stage wash. In Judd's shack, I lit it with R99 to set get a warm, but grungy feel. We spent a bit of time making the sunset on the back of the wall using LED pars. They had to be gelled with R104 to make them work better as cyc lights. I always default to the Rosco color picker on my Martin M1 for LED colors.

Sticky Majesty included a simultaneous duet and trio occupying two spaces - a "forest" and a "desert"
1 - R2003 plus GAM templates evoked a sickly scattered and broken light in the forest.
2 - I used R3208 from all directions to create a bright white space - hot and arid like the desert.
3 - Templates in R10 shot across the floor for Molly Lieber's excruciating slow and beautiful cross.

This is the scene in the wizard of oz where the world in which Dorothy is begins changing from black and white to full of color. In this scene, i used a mixture of R08, R02, and R302 all diffused with R119 to get the quality of light i wanted to achieve on Dorothy herself as well as the scenery in the background.

"Auditions-1" was lit with Fresnels gelled with R02 that were shooting straight at the ground to give a very dramatic introduction to an extremely silly scene with the atmosphere that was created from the bounce light off of the white floor of the platforms.
"Head in the Game" was lit using a R324. The punchy red really brought out the primary red costume pieces, and allowed for the athletes to be immersed in this stylistic high school.

The above photos are showing a front warm wash using R351. R351 helped greatly in this production by lighting skin tones perfectly, and not having so much blue content that it made red costumes purple.
